1. Ragged Point Lighthouse
Ragged Point Lighthouse is located in the parish of St. Philip (only 10 minutes away from The Crane) and marks the most easterly point of the island. This is an extremely picturesque area so be sure to pack a picnic basket and enjoy the view of rolling blues of the Atlantic and Barbados’ ruggedly beautiful East Coast.
2. The Globe Drive-In
Barbados’ Globe Drive-in is a treat for local and visitors alike. Take in a nightly showing of the latest box-office hits on a large outdoor screen - from the comfort of your vehicle!
Tip: Carry fold-out chairs and get to the Drive-in early to park in the front row. This truly outdoor movie viewing experience is a great idea for a night out in Barbados with the entire family.
3. Visit a Local Farmers Market

Even though you’re technically on vacation, try waking up early on the weekend and heading down to a local Farmers’ Market for the finest in fruits, vegetables and local crafts. Try the extremely popular Brighton Farmers Market which is held every Saturday from 6:00AM to 10:00AM.
4. Visit the Nidhe Israel Synagogue
Take a walk down history lane with a visit to Barbados’ Nidhe Israel Synagogue. Built in the 1700's, the Nidhe Israel Synagogue is the oldest in the western hemisphere. This historic building is protected by the Barbados National Trust and also houses the UNESCO protected 'Mikvah' - a Jewish ritual bath. Adjacent to the Synagogue is the Nidhe Israel Museum which provides an interesting look at the Jewish history in Barbados and an educational afternoon spent in Barbados.
5. Moontown Fish Fry
We’re sure you’ve heard of Oistin’s Fish Fry, but have you ever heard of Moontown’s? On Friday and Saturday nights, this sleepy fishing village in the north of the island comes alive. Enjoy a delicious selection of fresh fish served right off the grill, along with a generous portion of sides, including breadfruit, macaroni pie, grilled potatoes and seasonal vegetables – all the local favourites!
