So you’ve heard that September in Barbados is the rainy season? While that’s not untrue, it also shouldn’t concern you too much. Rain in Barbados is historically sporadic and short-lived, meaning you can still enjoy plenty of time in the sun or poolside. The rain is also localized, so if it’s raining on the beach, it may be a good day to head to Bridgetown to explore the capital of Barbados.

While at a resort, it’s often easy to imagine periods of rain as boring parts of the day, where you are only spending your time waiting for the clouds to clear so you can head back to the pool. This is untrue of Barbados.

When it does rain, there’s still plenty to do on the island. Barbados is a great place for duty-free shopping. The Crane Village is a great place to head for travel essentials, fine jewellery, resort wear, gifts, perfume, and more!

Maybe you need some more time to relax? In that case you should treat yourself to a day at the spa. The Crane offers a holistic approach to wellness at Serenity Spa, allowing you to enjoy full body massages, facials, a hot stone massage, and more.

If you’re up for some island exploring, heading to museums while it rains is another great option. Learn more about Barbados at the Barbados Museum, explore Harrison’s Cave, or visit St. Nicholas Abbey. Still looking for more? Take a look at a full list of attractions here!

You can also attend events on the island! Take a look at event listings here.

You can enjoy your stay in Barbados regardless of the weather. There is still plenty to do, no matter when you come to visit!
