# The Crane Resort launches new Calypso Kids Club
#### The Crane Resort in Barbados opened its exciting new ‘Calypso Kids Club’. Recognising the current appetite for an ‘authentic’ holiday experience, the resort is offering younger guests the opportunity to learn about Bajan heritage and culture in a way that combines fun and learning.
The Calypso Kids Club will cater to guests aged between four and 12 and teach them about Barbados, its music, food and local wildlife. Children will have the opportunity play various Caribbean musical instruments, such as the drum and shak-shak, and the chance to participate in a ‘Kiddies Kadooment’ dancing parade around the resort. To hone their culinary skills, the Crane’s chefs will be on hand to teach children how to prepare authentic Caribbean food such as Bajan fishcakes. For those younger ones who enjoy learning about the environment and getting their hands dirty, the club’s activity coordinators will also offer a sightseeing experience around the resort exploring the local plant life, insects and birds.
The new kids’ club ensures there will never be a dull moment for children staying at The Crane. Aside from teaching kids about traditional Bajan culture, it will offer a number of additional activities and events including: arts and crafts, story time, sand castle competitions, treasure hunts, discovery tours and talent shows.
Sophia Gunning, Reservations/Revenue Manager at The Crane comments: “We are very excited to be opening the doors to our new Calypso Kids’ Club this summer. We wanted to provide our younger guests with unique and invaluable experiences by encouraging them to learn about our wonderful island. The club will also allow parents the chance to relax and enjoy the resort knowing that their children are being entertained in a safe and nurturing environment. We’re certain that many fond memories and new friendships will be made at the Calypso Kids’ Club and we look forward to inviting children to enjoy our new offering.”
