Each year, between March and April, the historic Holders House is transformed for a world-famous performing arts festival. Known as Holders Season, this festival is a celebration of opera, comedy, music and theatre. The production always plays to capacity audiences showcasing some of the best actors from London's West End and New York's Broadway. Past performers include one of the world's most famous opera tenors - Luciano Pavarotti.

Barbados is home to Crop Over - "The Sweetest Summer Festival" . Crop Over finds its origins in the island's colonial past when plantation workers traditionally celebrated the end of the annual cane harvest. Every summer the island erupts into one big party for five weeks and visitors can expect a heavy mix of live music, dancing, parties, craft markets, cultural presentations and more. The festival culminates with Grand Kadooment - a national holiday when locals and visitors take to the streets to party in colourful costumes. Barbadian and international music super star Rihanna, and many celebrities including Lewis Hamilton and Will Smith can often be spotted during the festival.
The Crane's installment of the Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival's Gourmet Safari
The Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival is held annually in November. The Festival sees some of the world’s top chefs descend on the island to collaborate with local chefs to conduct cooking demonstrations and tasting sessions. Wine experts are also on hand to recommend pairings and explain the different characteristics of each vintage. With Barbados being the home of Mount Gay - the rum that invested rum - the Festival also highlights the spirit in creative ways. Past headliners include Chef Carla Hall of ABC's The Chew and award-winning chef and author Marcus Samuelsson of Harlem's Red Rooster Restaurant.
