Written by John Smith | May 25, 2016 9:42:49 AM

There is a reason why Barbadian music superstar Rihanna once sang, ‘Please don’t stop the music’. This is because the party never stops in Barbados. The coral island nation is host to a large number of beach parties, bars and night clubs, each offering unique and memorable experiences. Here is your insider’s guide to the very best of Barbadian nightlife:

Oistins Fish Fry

By day Oistins is a lively fishing village and by night – specifically Friday nights – it becomes even livelier, erupting into a huge street party known as Oistins Fish Fry. This open air party is one of Barbados’ most popular night spots, attracting locals and visitors alike, to enjoy the live entertainment, delicious local dishes and party atmosphere.

St. Lawrence Gap

‘The Gap’, as it is commonly known, is a 1.3km stretch of road in the parish of Christ Church, famous for its fine restaurants, lively nightlife and good shopping. It is an experience that should not be missed! Highlights include The Cove Night Club and Ol’ Jamm Inn.

Harbour Lights

Harbour Lights is an open air beach front night club which offers some of Barbados' best nightlife with a distinct Caribbean atmosphere. Its weekly Beach Extravaganza is perfect for an authentic Barbados dining experience, fusing a fantastic local BBQ with cultural entertainment including the Fire Eater, Stilt Walker and Limbo Dancer.

1st & 2nd Street, Holetown

Located on the island’s ‘Platinum’ West Coast, 1st and 2nd Streets are popular celebrity haunts, boasting an exciting variety of restaurants and bars. Highlights include Red Door Lounge and The Mews.

The luxurious Crane Resort is located only 15 and 20 minutes away from Oistins and St. Lawrence Gap respectively. For more information on Barbados nightlife, contact concierge@thecrane.com.
