A fantastic showing of sportmanship! - That is the best way to describe the day spent at the Barbados Golf Club for this year's Crane Golf Classic.
Special congratulations are due to Maurice Forde, who won his fourth win at the Crane Golf Classic. A left-hander, who attended a Florida university on a golf scholarship, Forde shot a gross 74 to win the strokeplay competition among low handicap players in atournament contested by 75 male and female players.Sharon Kemp (UK) won the women’s Stablefordcompetition with 34 points, edging Monica Morrow(also 34) on the count-back system.
David Cox won the nett competition in the Men’s 12and Under handicap, former Barbados tennis championTyrone Mapp played himself to a podium finish for thesecond straight year. He finished behind Cox, on thecount-back system, after both posted nett scores of 71.Third was Roger Bryan on 72.
In Stableford play for men with 13 and Overhandicaps, Kevin Fryers (UK) won the division with 37points, ahead of Clennel Goodman (36) and RogerMoore (35).
Several of the attractive prizes included weekendstays, and dining options at the luxurious property, andamong the other prize winners were Claire Boucher(longest drive/women); Andy Dickson (closest to thepin/men); and our Property Sales Manager, Tristan Blades! (closest to the pin/women)
