How to Spend Your Honeymoon in Barbados

1. The Beaches

Barbados is well-known for its turquoise blue waters and white sandy beaches. Particularly romantic for honeymooners is Cattlewash Beach. It is by far the best spot on the island for stargazing, so newlyweds can lie down on the sand by night, watching for shooting stars. A vacation to Barbados simply has to include watching the sun go down. The best beaches for sunset include Batts Rock, Mullins Bay and other spots on the West Coast of the island.

2. Boat Cruises

Take time out from your honeymoon resort and book a day cruise on a catamaran. Spend the day swimming with turtles, snorkelling and soaking up the sun from the vessel. There are several different companies on the island that offer boat trips.

3. Explore the Caves

Take a trip to Animal Flower Cave, a sea cave found on the most northernly point of Barbados, in the parish of St. Lucy. The cave has a 400,000-year-old coral floor, complete with sea anemones and fascinating rock formations. On a calm day, you can spend your vacation in Barbados swimming in the natural pools and admiring the incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean through the openings in the cave. The stunning cliffs around the cave are a great place for spectacular views of the northern coastline.

Another top attraction on the island is Harrison’s Cave. Nestled in St. Thomas, the crystallized limestone cave boasts flowing streams, beautiful waterfalls, deep pools and stalagmites and stalactites.

4. Romantic Meals for Two

After a day of snorkelling or lying by the pool at your honeymoon resort, end the day with sunset drinks and a delicious dinner overlooking the sea. For something extremely memorable, be sure to reserve a table at The Cliff Restaurant, just on the West Coast above St. James. Each table at the restaurant overlooks the Caribbean Ocean and the entire establishment is lit by flame torches which creates the dreamiest atmosphere. The restaurant serves up delectable fare and offers an extensive wine list along with an after-hours lounge.

5. Time Out at The Crane Spa

The Crane’s Serenity Spa offers a holistic approach to wellness and the attentive service and relaxing setting makes for the ideal place to spend your vacation in Barbados. The spa includes a variety of facial, massage and body treatments to leave you feeling pampered and relaxed.
